Join Finnish-born violinist Professor Réka Szilvay for an in-depth study of the wonderful Sibelius Violin Concerto. Being a native of Finland, Réka finds the works of Sibelius, and particularly the violin concerto, intimately familiar. She will not only focus on the technical and musical aspects of this masterpiece, but will show you how to let the diversity of nature inspire your interpretation as it inspired Sibelius in his life and compositions.
This event consists of four classes. In the first introductory class, Réka will present the cornerstones of the concerto, giving context and an outline of form, by playing and discussing, and showing examples in the score. The following three classes, each focussing on a movement, will take the form of a masterclass. If you would like to be considered as a performing participant for any of these classes, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to register your interest.
